Why Now Is the Best Time to Market Like Yourself

Marketing used to feel simple. Not easy — but simple.

You had a message, a few platforms to choose from, and a chance to find your people by showing up and speaking clearly.

Now? It’s noise on top of noise.

More platforms.
More pressure.
More rules.
And somehow, less clarity.

But underneath all the chaos, there’s a quiet truth:
It’s finally possible to build marketing that actually feels like you.

The Early Days: When I Fell In Love With Social

Years ago, I found my voice on Twitter. I wasn’t chasing clout — I was studying the platform. From 7 to 11 every night:
I played.
I posted.
I tested.
I paid attention.

Back then, social media wasn’t built around algorithms. That came later.

It was built around conversations, excitement and a love for connecting with others that we wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for the internet.

And I loved it.

I started showing up on lists as a top Twitter expert. I was even named the most influential attendee at Ad Week New York — not because I had the biggest following, but because I had the deepest engagement.

People responded because I was giving them something real, in real time.

That’s how I learned: strategy doesn’t start with tactics.
It starts with truth. With listening. With adjusting as you go.

Then Came the Algorithm

We all know what happened next. Metrics got louder. Virality became the goal. Suddenly it felt like you couldn’t post anything without wondering how it would perform.

But something got lost in that shift:
The people.
The message.
The you in your marketing.

Where We Are Now: Options, Noise, and a Better Way

Today, we’ve got more ways than ever to show up:

  • Want to talk? Start a podcast or send audio notes.

  • Don’t want to be on camera? Use branded visuals or write powerful posts.

  • Can’t post daily? Batch it. Automate it. Set your own rhythm.

You get to decide what your marketing looks like — and what it feels like.

But with all that choice comes confusion. That’s the catch. Too many paths. Too many “shoulds.” And not enough clarity.

What I Know Now

Here’s what I’ve learned from years of doing this — for myself and for clients:

The best marketing strategy isn’t the trendiest one.
It’s the one that fits your energy, your voice, and your values.

When that clicks? Everything flows.

You show up more consistently. You attract the right people. You stop feeling like you’re performing someone else’s strategy.

If You’re Ready to Market Like You

You need a clear message, a rhythm that works, and a system that honors how you actually move through the world.

That’s the work I love doing.
And now’s the best time to do it.
